We've been out here in Village Dastan for a while now. If you're coming from the Surat-Dhulia railway crossing, you'll find us pretty easily. It’s a quiet spot in the Balsana Tehsil. It’s a lot of walking around and checking meters. Sometimes the trains going past the crossing are the loudest thing all day. We’ve got a small team on-site. We drink a lot of tea and handle the daily logs. It’s straightforward work. No one really thinks about the power until it’s not there, so we just stay quiet and do what’s needed. The village is small, so everyone knows where we are. We don't have a big sign or a lobby. Just the gates and the towers. It gets dusty in the summer, but that’s just how it is. We’ve been at this location for years, and it feels like home to most of the crew. We keep our tools ready and follow the schedule. It isn't a glamorous job, but it's important for the area.
