Payal Dying & Painting Mills

Payal Dying & Painting Mills is located at 1/2/3/4 near Bareli Gaon, right off the Sion Trombay Road in Kadodara. It’s an industrial sort of area, so it isn't the cleanest or the quietest place to be. We spend our days surrounded by vats and cans of paint. There is always a smell of chemicals and drying pigment in the air, which we don't even notice anymore, but visitors usually mention it. The floors have splashes of color everywhere from years of work. It’s a messy business, but that’s how dying and painting goes. We are tucked away near the village, so we get a mix of local workers and people coming from the main road. The building is old and the roof makes a lot of noise when it rains, but it keeps us dry enough. We don't have a fancy office or any of that. We just have a small space to sit and take orders between the actual work. Some days we are covered in blue or red by lunchtime. It’s hard work and the hours can be long when we have a big batch to finish. We don't do much in terms of promotion; the work speaks for itself when people see the finished colors. We’ve been in Kadodara for a long time and we know the local trucks and drivers who come through. It’s just a plain, hardworking mill where we get the job done and stay busy with our daily routines.
