Subarna Rice Mill

Subarna Rice Mill is situated in Khetura, which falls under the Galsi area in Purba Burdwan. It is a rural spot, surrounded by a lot of greenery and fields. We have the mill set up here because this is where the rice is. The village life is quiet, but the mill itself can be quite loud when the engines are running. We spend our days processing the grain that comes in from the local farmers. The roads in Purba Burdwan can be a bit rough, especially after the monsoon, but the trucks still find their way to us in Khetura. We have a group of local workers who have been with us since the start. It is hard work and the air is always full of that rice smell. We don't have a fancy office or any computer systems that are too complicated. Everything is done in a very traditional way. We keep the bags stacked in the warehouse until they are ready to go out. Most of the people around here know us by name. It is just a simple life running a mill in the Galsi post area. We don't worry about being a big corporation. We just make sure the mill stays in good shape and the work gets finished every day. Some days we finish early if the weather is clear and the harvest was good.
