Satyam Rice Mill

Satyam Rice Mill is out in Village Paraj, right near the Factory-Para area. If you are looking for us, you have to head toward the post office in Galsi first. Our mill is a large structure where the smell of raw rice and husks is always in the air. We spend our days dealing with the local harvest, which means some months are incredibly busy while others are a bit quieter. The machinery we use is loud and requires constant oiling and checking to stay running right. There are always sacks of grain stacked up high in the corners, waiting to be processed or loaded onto trucks. The floor is usually covered in a thin layer of dust from the milling process, no matter how much we sweep. We have a few workers who have been with us for years and know exactly how the engines should sound. It is a rural setting, so we are surrounded by fields and open space. The weather really dictates our schedule here; if it rains, we have to move fast to keep everything dry. It is not an easy job, and it is definitely not a clean one, but it is what we do. We do not have a fancy office for meetings, just a small wooden desk near the entrance. Most of our conversations happen while standing around the machines or near the loading bay where the trucks park.
