Sail India

Our office for Sail India is over at A-II/3, Andrews Place in Durgapur. This part of West Bengal is famous for the steel industry, and we have been rooted here for a long time. The pin code is 713204. It is a quiet enough street compared to the main plant gates, which is nice when you are trying to get work done. The building is older, but it serves us well for what we need to do. We spend our time going through documents and talking to the people who come by with questions about the steel business. Durgapur has a certain feel to it, very industrial but with lots of trees in the residential pockets like Andrews Place. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture or modern decorations. It is just desks, chairs, and a lot of filing cabinets filled with history. People here are friendly and most of us have known each other for years. It feels more like a community than a corporate office. We just make sure the work gets done and the mail is sorted. When the shift is over, we walk out to the street and catch a rickshaw or head home on our scooters. It is a steady life here at the Durgapur branch and we don't expect it to change much. We just keep the records moving through the system.
