Pradan

Pradan is based out in Village Shyamdasbati, which is in the Burdwan area. Most of us here grew up in this village or the one next to it. Being in a rural spot like this means we work according to the seasons and the local pace. The post office is also called Shyamdasbati, so that helps people find the letters we send or receive. It’s a quiet place compared to the big city, but we stay busy enough with our daily tasks. We don’t have a big team, just enough people to keep things moving. Our work involves interacting with the local farmers and residents quite a bit. You’ll usually find us at the office during the daylight hours. It’s not a shiny building, just a practical space where we keep our records and meet people. The roads around here can be a bit rough during the monsoon, but we are used to it by now. We’ve been part of this community for a while. Everyone knows everyone else's name. There isn't much formality in how we operate. We just sit down, have a glass of water, and talk about the work that needs doing. It’s a simple life in Burdwan. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just focus on what's in front of us.
