We’ve been based out here in Vill Bairagi Bagan for quite a while now. Most people know the Sitarampur area pretty well, but our spot is a bit tucked away near the post office. Burdwan can get really humid in the summer, so the fans are always going in the office. We handle the local distribution side of things for the liquor business. It’s mostly just keeping track of the crates and making sure the paperwork for the West Bengal authorities is sorted out before the trucks head out. Sometimes the rain makes the roads a bit messy around the bagan, but we manage to keep things moving. There’s a small tea stall just down the road where most of us go during the afternoon break to chat. It’s not a fancy setup, just some desks, a few ledger books, and a lot of phone calls back and forth. People usually drop by if they have a specific question about an order. We don’t really do much online stuff; it’s mostly just hand-to-hand and face-to-face business here. It’s a quiet enough place most days unless there’s a big delivery coming in. We’ve grown used to the pace of life in this part of Burdwan. It’s just us doing the daily work, making sure everything is where it needs to be when the shops open up. It feels like a normal part of the neighborhood after all these years of being in Sitarampur.
