Larsen & Toubro Limited

We are based in Burdwan, West Bengal. This office is one of those places that feels very much a part of the town. We don’t have a fancy street name in our main address, just the town and the pin code 713122. It is a typical West Bengal setting where everything moves at its own pace. The office isn't very big, but it is enough for the group of us who work here. We have some wooden desks that have been around for years and a few cabinets that are overflowing with documents. Working for Larsen & Toubro Limited in a place like Burdwan is different from being in a big city. You know the people who live next door and you see the same faces every morning at the tea stall. The internet can be a bit patchy when it rains hard, which happens quite a bit during the monsoon. We just make do with what we have. There is no big mission statement on the wall, just a clock that is a few minutes fast. We handle the local logistics and coordination from here. It is a lot of talking on the phone and writing down notes. Sometimes we have to travel out to the nearby sites, which breaks up the routine. It is a honest day’s work for all of us. We just try to be helpful and get our tasks finished before the sun goes down. Nothing more to it than that.
