We are set up at 29 Kumud Ranjan Mallick Path in Durgapur. It is right in the City Centre area, which is pretty convenient for everyone working at Lafarge India Pvt. Ltd. Being in West Bengal, we deal with a lot of local contractors and builders from this office. The street is usually busy with people going about their business. Our building isn't anything special to look at, but it has enough space for our desks and all the files we have to keep. We started out here a few years back and just stayed. Durgapur is a planned city, so things are usually laid out okay. We get a lot of rain during the monsoon and the street can get a bit messy, but we still make it in. Inside, it is just a bunch of us trying to keep the orders straight. We don’t have a fancy coffee machine, just a local tea stall nearby that we use. There is always someone coming in with a delivery or a question about a shipment. We don't use much big talk here. We just tell people when the cement will arrive and how much it costs. It is a straightforward way of working. Most of our neighbors are other businesses or residential spots. We fit in pretty well with the local Durgapur crowd. It feels like a real place, not some cold office park.
