You can find us in Kalna, over in the Burdwan district of West Bengal. We are right in Kansaripara, quite close to the Raj School. It’s an old part of town with narrow streets and a lot of history. Our office is a modest building that fits right in with the neighborhood. There’s a lot of coming and going because of the school nearby, so the mornings are usually pretty loud with kids and rickshaws. We’ve been operating from this location for some time now. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, a few old computers, and plenty of ledgers. We don't have a big team here, but everyone knows their job. We handle the local infrastructure projects, so there is always some talk about materials, labor, and deadlines. The Raj School bell is how we keep time more than our own watches. When the kids go home, we know it's almost time to wrap up. The office cat usually sleeps on the printer because it's warm. We don't have the heart to move her. It’s a bit cramped with all the blueprints rolled up in every corner. We’ve got an old wooden cabinet that holds all the project history of this branch. It smells like old paper and dust. Sometimes the monsoon rain is so loud on the roof we have to shout to hear each other. We don't mind, though. It’s part of living in Burdwan. We don't have any flashy slogans or mission statements on the walls. Mostly it's just calendars and safety posters. We try to be fair with everyone we work with. It's a small town, so your reputation is everything. If you do a bad job, everyone knows by dinner time. So we just focus on being steady and reliable. That’s more important to us than any marketing stuff.
