Down on Vivekananda Sarani in Jamuria, things stay pretty busy. We are based out of Burdwan, and if you know this part of West Bengal, you know it’s an area where people work hard. The office is right there in the Jamuria area, and it serves as the main hub for everything we do around here. We have a lot of trucks and heavy gear that we keep in the yard behind the main building. The traffic on the main road can be a bit much in the mornings when everyone is trying to get to their sites. We’ve got a small crew in the office handling the logs and the various government papers that seem to never end. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we like being in the middle of things. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a few hours and we just have to sit outside and wait it out while talking about the next project. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or making the place look polished. It’s a workplace, plain and simple. The walls have some old calendars and a few photos of the bigger bridges or roads we helped with over the years. Most of the guys have been with us for a long time, and we all just know what needs to be done each morning without needing a lot of meetings or big speeches.
