Our office is out in the Kenda Area, specifically in Bahula, which is part of the Burdwan district. We are based in the civil engineering section here. It’s a real industrial feel because of all the coal activity around. The air is a bit dusty and there are trucks moving all the time, but that’s just how life is in a mining area. We work out of a building that has seen plenty of years. It’s a practical environment. We have maps on the walls and boots by the door. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find a glossy brochure. We are just local people doing the engineering work needed for the coalfields. The roads around here can be rough, especially when it rains, so we spend a lot of time just dealing with the logistics of getting from one spot to another. We have a set routine. Morning tea, checking the sites, then back to the office for reports. It’s a bit isolated compared to the big cities, but there is a sense of community among the workers. We don't make a big fuss about what we do. We just make sure the infrastructure holds up and the civil projects get finished. It’s plain and simple. Working in Bahula means you get to know everyone on the site, and that’s the way we like it. No corporate ladder to climb, just real work to finish.
