Burman Chanachur

At Burman Chanachur, we are located at No-21 in Dhokra Shahid. This is part of the Nutanganj neighborhood. Our place is not very big, just a local setup where we make our snacks. Nutanganj is a crowded area with narrow streets, so it can be a bit of a squeeze when we have supplies arriving. We’ve been at No-21 for a long time now. Most of the people working here are from just around the corner. Every morning you can smell the spices being mixed and the frying going on. It’s a very specific smell that lets everyone know we are working. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just make the chanachur and people come to buy it. The walls are a bit stained from the years of cooking, and the floor is worn down. It’s a real working kitchen. We spend our days packing bags and making sure the mix is right. It’s a bit loud with the equipment running, but we are used to it. Sometimes we sit outside on the step during our break just to watch the people go by in Dhokra Shahid. It’s a simple life and we like it that way. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just make snacks in a small shop in Nutanganj and that's enough for us. It gets busy during the festival seasons when everyone wants something to eat.
