The Aguada Hermitage

You will find us in Sinquerim which is a quiet corner of Goa. It is a place that has been around for a long time and we just look after it. The area is known for the old fort and the water nearby but we are just one part of the neighborhood. The humidity here is something you get used to after living in Goa for a while. We don't have a lot of corporate rules or big manuals on how to talk to people. We just act like ourselves and hope that is enough. The grounds need a lot of attention because the plants grow so fast in this climate. We spend a lot of our time outside just checking on things and making sure the paths are clear. It is not a fast-paced environment at all. Things move a bit slower here in Sinquerim and we like it that way. We don't promise anything fancy or over-the-top. It is just a place where you can be near the coast. Sometimes the wind gets strong off the sea and you can smell the salt in the air. We keep the buildings maintained as much as we can. It is a constant job really. We just show up every morning and see what needs fixing or cleaning. It is a peaceful life most of the time despite all the yard work.
