Ashoka Jewellers

We are located in shops 5 and 6 at the Magnum Resort in Candolim. It’s pretty close to the local health centre if you’re looking for a landmark. Being near the resort means we see a mix of people. Some are on holiday and just wander in from the beach or the pool. Others live nearby and have been coming to us for years. It’s a decent sized spot since we have two shop numbers joined together. We keep the doors open to let the air in. It gets quite warm in Goa, so we have a few fans going all the time. We put our jewellery out in the morning and pack it up at night. It’s a routine we’ve had for a long time. My wife helps me with the displays. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just talk to whoever walks in. Sometimes the resort is full and we’re busy all day. Other times, like in the monsoon, it’s just us and the rain. We handle repairs too, if something breaks. People bring in things they bought elsewhere to get them fixed. We sit at the back under the bright lights to see the small details. It’s a good spot, not too far from the main road but quiet enough to hear yourself think. We keep the inventory simple and mostly work with what we know. If you stop by, you'll likely find me at the bench.
