Shikha Saha

I have been running things here in Niranjan Pally for a while now under my own name, Shikha Saha. My place is not a big commercial setup with neon lights or anything like that. It is more of a personal space where I see people from the neighborhood. Being in Kolkata 700136, it is a residential area so most of my clients are women who live just a few houses away. They usually call me before coming over to see if I am free. I have one main chair and all my tools are kept on a small wooden trolley I bought years ago. It is a bit cramped when more than two people show up at once, but we manage by sitting on the stool near the window. I do threading, hair oiling, and the usual things people need. The lighting isn't the best on cloudy days so I have to use a lamp. I like it this way because I can work at my own pace and talk to my neighbors. We discuss the price of vegetables or the local weather while I work. It is quiet here compared to the main roads. Sometimes my cat walks in and sits in the corner. It is not a fancy business, just me doing what I know how to do for the people who live nearby. It feels more like visiting a friend than going to a shop.
