Salil Chakraborty

I work out of Navapally, which is a nice spot near the Navapally Boys High School. Having the school nearby means there are always kids and teachers around, which makes the area feel quite alive. My setup here is very personal. It’s not some big corporate office with a reception desk. It is just me, Salil Chakraborty, and the work I do right here in the 700126 area. I’ve lived and worked in this part of Kolkata for a long time. People know me and they know where to find me if they need something. The office is simple and filled with the things I need to get through the day. I don't believe in making things more complicated than they need to be. I just open up, do my tasks, and talk to people who come by. The street can be a bit dusty when the weather is dry, but that’s just how it is. I like the routine of being here. It’s a very grounded existence. No one here is trying to impress anyone with big words or shiny brochures. I just provide the work and try to be fair about it. Being close to the high school is a good landmark for people who haven't been here before. It is just a small, local setup where the work is honest and the days go by pretty quickly. I’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years.
