Roxy Bricks Field

We are out here in Chaltaberia village, right under the Hasnabad police station area. People around here know us as Roxy Bricks Field. It is a quiet part of North 24 Parganas, mostly fields and trees until you get to our kiln. We spend most of our days dealing with mud and fire. The work starts early when the sun isn't too hot yet. Our workers live close by in Murarisha and other spots. We have been here for a good while now, just making bricks like everyone else in this belt. It is hard work, honestly. You get dusty, the smoke from the chimney goes everywhere when the wind shifts, and the monsoon always makes things difficult for us. When it rains, everything stops and we just wait for the ground to dry up. There isn't much to say about us other than we keep the stacks moving. We load the trucks that come down the narrow village roads. Sometimes the tractors get stuck if the mud is too deep. We just handle the day-to-day stuff. You can find us easily if you ask for the Murarisha post office area. Most of the people working here have been with us for years. We eat together, work the soil, and try to get the bhatta running right every season. It is just a local business trying to keep going in the village. Not much fancy about it, just bricks and earth.
