Perfect Paints

Our shop is in Vill- Jamrultala, over in Basirhat. It’s under the 24 Parganas North district. Perfect Paints is the name we use. It’s a local place for people in the village and nearby areas. I’ve lived in Basirhat all my life, so I know what people here need. The shop is located in a quiet part of Jamrultala. We keep different kinds of paints for walls and wood. It’s not a massive warehouse. It’s just a room filled with cans and brushes. I open the shutters every morning and sweep the front. Sometimes it’s slow, and I just sit and watch the street. Other days, everyone comes at once. I don’t have any fancy computer systems. I write everything down in a notebook. People come from the surrounding villages because they know I am here. It’s a long way from the big city, so we rely on each other. I try to keep the prices fair. The walls of the shop are covered in old paint samples. It’s a bit messy, but I know where everything is. Perfect Paints isn’t about being perfect; it’s just the name we have on the sign. We just provide what we can to the people of Basirhat. I get our stock delivered by truck once a week. It’s a big event when the truck arrives. We have to move everything inside quickly. Sometimes the power goes out. It’s a simple way to live and work. I wouldn't have it any other way.
