Mina Ice Cream Centre

Out here in Vill- Kumarpukur, things move a bit slower than they do in the bigger cities. Mina Ice Cream Centre is tucked away near Post- Makhal Gachha, right in the Hasnabad area. Being in 24 Parganas North, we deal with a lot of humidity and long afternoons. Our shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but it’s been a staple for the folks living around here for a good while. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place tidy and making sure the supplies come in from the main road. The walk to the post office or the police station isn't far, so we see the local staff quite a bit. Life in a village like this means everyone knows your business, and they definitely know where to find us when they want a treat. We don't have any big slogans or marketing plans. We just open up in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. Sometimes we sit outside on a bench when it's quiet and just watch the carts go by. It’s a simple life at the ice cream centre. The kids from the nearby houses usually come by after school with a few coins. We like being part of the community in Kumarpukur. It’s a lot of work keeping things frozen in this heat, but we manage just fine with what we have.
