Maa Durga Garments

We operate out of 310/32 Shastrijee Road in the Nabapolly neighborhood. Maa Durga Garments is really just a local shop where we handle various types of clothes. It is a residential area mostly, so things are a bit quieter here than they are in the main market. Our space is usually filled with piles of shirts and trousers waiting to be sorted or sent out to customers. We have a couple of large wooden tables where we do all the folding and packing. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play outside our door, and the noise drifts in while we work. It is a simple building, nothing too special to look at from the outside. Inside, it is often a bit of a mess with threads and plastic bags everywhere. We do not really follow a strict corporate schedule here. We start when we get here in the morning and leave whenever the work for the day is done. Usually, that means long hours before the festival seasons. We have a small stove in the corner for making tea throughout the day. Most of our regular customers just walk in and look through what we have on the racks. We do not have a big sign, just some writing on the wall so people know who we are. Nabapolly is a nice place to work because everyone knows each other. If we run out of something like packing tape, the shop next door usually helps us out. We are not trying to be a big brand or anything. We just provide decent garments to whoever needs them. It is honest work and it keeps us going day to day.
