Kingston Polytechnic College

Kingston Polytechnic College is out in Berunanpukuria, which is part of Barasat near Kolkata. It’s a fairly large area and we have a lot of students coming in for technical courses every year. The address is simple enough to find if you’re heading towards that part of West Bengal. We have different departments for various engineering and technical subjects. Most of the day is spent in the workshops or the classrooms. There’s a lot of machinery and tools around because that’s what the students need to learn for their future jobs. It’s a busy environment. We have faculty who have been teaching these subjects for many years. The campus has its own rhythm. Morning starts with students arriving from various parts of Barasat and even further away. We have some green space around the buildings, which makes it a bit different from the city. It’s not right in the middle of the city noise, which is nice for studying. We focus on the syllabus and getting the practical work done in the labs. Exams and lab sessions take up most of our schedule throughout the semester. People know us as the polytechnic college in this locality. It’s been standing here for a while now. We don't have fancy stuff, just what's needed for the students to get their diplomas. It’s a lot of paperwork and manual work, but we are used to it by now. There are many students who commute every day from far away.
