We work out of Village Bora, near the Kazipara post office in Barasat. It’s a quiet village setting, which is nice for the kind of work we do. Needle art takes a lot of patience and steady hands. We spend a lot of hours sitting under the light, just working on different pieces. It’s mostly handwork, so it takes time. People in Barasat know we’ve been around for a while. We started small, just doing bits and pieces for neighbors, and it kind of grew from there. The village life is slow, which suits us fine. There’s always some fabric or thread lying around the workspace. It can get messy, but that’s part of the process. We don't have a big storefront with lights and signs. It’s just our workshop in the village. Sometimes we walk over to the post office to send things out. Most of the people working here are from right around the corner. We talk while we work to pass the time. It’s not a high-stress environment, but we do keep busy. Each piece is different, and we don't rush through them. It’s just what we do every day. Sometimes the rain makes it a bit damp, so we have to be careful with the materials. We just keep going even when the light gets a bit dim in the evenings. It is a good way to earn a living with your own two hands.
