If you head down toward Chudi Bazar in the middle of Sadar Bazar, you’ll come across My Sunlight. We are right in the thick of things. Anyone who knows Sadar Bazar knows it’s one of the busiest places you could ever be. Our shop isn't huge, but it’s always full of items. We deal with various types of lights and household goods. Every morning starts with us pulling up the shutters and trying to make some room on the floor. It’s a lot of back-and-forth with customers all day long. The noise from the market is constant, but you get used to it after a week or two of working here. We don't spend money on fancy decorations. Most of our shelves are just plain wood we put up ourselves. We’ve got a lot of regular customers who stop by just to say hello while they’re doing their other shopping in the market. It’s a friendly atmosphere despite the crowd. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just use the flashlights we sell to keep going. We try to keep things simple and honest. There’s no big corporate strategy here. We just buy stuff, sell it, and try to make sure everyone is okay with what they got. It’s a family-style environment. We take turns going out to get tea for everyone when we have a spare moment. It’s a tough location to work in sometimes, but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. It’s just who we are and what we do.
