We operate out of Bahiri, which is over in the Bolpure area. Our setup is at C/O - Timir Baran Choudharybahiri’s place. It’s a quiet spot, away from the big city noise, which suits the Global Forum For Sustainable Rural Development just fine. Even though the name sounds quite large, we are actually a pretty small team working out of this local address. We spend a lot of time talking to the people around here in the village. It’s not like those offices you see in movies with glass walls and expensive furniture. We have wooden chairs and a lot of paper files. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside and keep talking. Bolpure is a nice place to be based. We focus on what’s happening right here in the rural parts. It’s practical work. We don’t have a lot of fancy words for what we do. Mostly, we just look at the fields and the roads and see where we can pitch in. People know Timir, so they know where to find us. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stop, but it’s a nice walk. We’ve been here for a while and don’t plan on moving. It’s a simple life and a simple office, and that’s exactly how we like to keep things. Nothing too complicated, just daily effort in Bahiri. Sometimes we share a meal while we work on the books and talk. It works for us.
