If you head down the NH-1 Shaltang Bypass towards Zainakote, you’ll find us. We’re tucked away near the bypass, and Abdul Aziz Dar is the person who looks after the place. We’ve been operating out of this part of Srinagar for a while, mostly dealing with community support. It’s a busy spot with all the traffic coming off the highway, so we get people from all over stopping by. We aren't a big organization with a lot of money. We mostly just help out where we can with local issues, whether it's food support or helping people get in touch with the right government offices. The building isn't much to look at, but it serves its purpose. We spend a lot of time talking to the workers and families who live around the Zainakote industrial area. It’s a bit of a grit-and-grind type of place. We don’t really do fancy events or anything like that. Mostly, it’s just sitting down with someone who has a problem and trying to find a way to fix it. The winters here are tough on the bypass, and we try to do extra then, like helping with warm clothes or fuel when we have it. It’s a lot of manual work and staying on top of things. We’re just local people trying to make the day-to-day life a bit easier for our neighbors near the highway. It’s honest work, and we like it that way. No big fuss needed.
