Mir Rice Mill

Mir Rice Mill sits right on National Highway 44, over in the Mir Bazaar area of Vesu. It is a busy spot because of the highway traffic, and we are right near the Drive Veer Masjid. You cannot really miss the building if you are driving through. It is a large, older structure that has seen a lot of seasons. We spend our days dealing with the flow of grain and the constant hum of the machinery. The noise from the road and the noise from the mill sort of blend together after a while. It is a very busy environment, especially when the harvest comes in. We have a lot of people coming and going, mostly locals from the Vesu area. The office is just a simple corner of the main building where we keep the ledgers. We do not use much fancy technology here; we mostly rely on what we have learned over the years. It gets very hot in the afternoons, so we usually take a long break when the sun is at its highest. The masjid is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. We are not a big corporation, just a local mill trying to do its part in the bazaar. We know the other shop owners around here and we all look out for each other. It is a basic, hard-working life for all of us.
