Gallani Watch House Mobile Centre

Living and working in Uri means being right up there near the mountains. Gallani Watch House Mobile Centre is sitting right on Nh-1A. You can't miss it if you are driving through this part of Jammu and Kashmir. The weather gets quite cold here, so we usually have a heater going in the shop during the winter months. We deal with all sorts of watches, from the old mechanical ones to the new digital styles. Since we are on the highway, we get people stopping by who are just passing through, but most of our regulars are local folks from Uri. They bring in their mobiles when the charging port gets finicky or the buttons stop working. It is a small shop but we have a lot of stuff packed inside. The state of the roads can be rough, so there is always a bit of mud or dust near the door. We spend a lot of time hunched over the work table with tiny screws. It is quiet some days and then suddenly three people will walk in at once. We have been here for a long time now. People know they can find us here on the main road. We don't do much besides fixing what is broken and chatting with the people who come in. It is just a steady business in a very beautiful part of the country. We try to finish repairs as fast as we can.
