About Godbharle Sugar – Food & Beverages in Baramati
Our place is out in Renapur, right near the post office. Dealing with sugar means our schedule follows the seasons and the harvest. When the cane comes in, things get really hectic around here for everyone. We’ve been in this part of the taluka for a good bit of time now. It's not a big city operation at all. Most of the people working here are from the nearby villages. We spend a lot of our time checking the bags and making sure everything is stored right so the moisture doesn't get in. Sugar is one of those things everyone needs, so there's always something to do regardless of the month. The roads around here can be a bit rough during the rains, which slows down our transport. We don't have a big office or anything fancy to show off. It’s mostly just the warehouse and the loading area where the trucks park. The smell of the sugar is everywhere, and you get used to it after a while. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we have to wait it out. That's just how it is in Renapur. We know most of the people who come by to pick up orders. It’s a small community and everyone knows everyone else. We don't do much advertising, as word just gets around the village. If you’re looking for the post office, you’ll find us easily enough. We keep the doors open during the day unless it's too dusty outside. It's a lot of manual labor, but it's what we do here.
