We’ve been here in Satti Bazaar for a good while now. Our shop is right on the Main Market Road in Nawabganj, not too far from the Dharmshala. If you know the area, it gets pretty crowded around noon with people coming in from the nearby villages and the main town. Most days, we open up early when the sun isn't too hot yet. The shutters always make a loud noise that the neighbors are probably used to by now. It’s just us here, keeping things running. We deal with various items that people need for their homes or for gifts when there’s a wedding or a festival. It’s a busy spot, especially on weekends when the market really picks up. There’s a lot of dust because of the road work that seems to happen every few months, but we just keep the shelves clean. People stop by to chat as much as they do to buy anything. Sometimes the tea stall guy brings over a few cups and we just sit for a minute before the next group of customers comes in. It’s a simple life. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. Just shelves filled with stuff and a counter that's seen better days. That is how it's been since we started. It’s just a local shop in a busy part of Nawabganj where everyone knows everyone else’s name. We don't plan on changing much anytime soon.
