Being close to the college means there’s always some activity around, but Sangamitra Handloom Producer Companylimited stays focused on the weaving. We have a group of people here who really know their way around a handloom. It’s a lot of physical work, pushing the pedals and moving the shuttle back and forth all day. Your arms get tired after a few hours. We don’t have a big corporate team telling us what to do. We just decide things as a group and try to keep the business running. The building isn't brand new, it has some character and maybe some cracks here and there. We don't mind. It stays cool enough in the shade while we work.
