Rice Mill

This rice mill is located at Kunchidale House in Thenkamijar Village. We are part of the Mangalore Taluk in the Dhakshin Kannada district, specifically near the Ashwathpura Post. It is a very quiet and green area, far away from the noise of the bigger towns. The mill is actually situated on the same property as our family home, so we are always here. We handle the milling for the farmers in our village and the surrounding areas. It isn't a massive industrial setup, just a small local mill that serves the people nearby. We know every single person who brings their crop to us. The machines make a lot of noise, which is a big contrast to the quiet village life, but everyone is used to it by now. We do all the work ourselves, from the drying of the grain to the final packing into sacks. It involves a lot of lifting and physical labor, especially when the harvest is in full swing. The roads leading to the village can get quite muddy and difficult when it rains heavily, but we always manage to keep things moving. We don't have a big company sign or any fancy office. People in the area just know to come to Kunchidale House when they need their rice processed. It is a traditional way of life that has been passed down to us, and we are happy to keep it going for the community.
