New National Coffee & Cold House

Our place on Dahod Road, near Kushal Bag Road, is usually where people stop when they are tired of the heat. It’s called New National Coffee & Cold House, and we spend most of our time keeping the fridge stocked and the coffee machine running. The machine is a bit old and makes a loud hissing sound when the steam comes out, but it still works fine. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard, so we pull the shades down halfway. Most people come in for a cold soda or a quick coffee if they’ve been driving for a while. The chairs are just those plastic ones that are easy to move around when we have to wash the floor. We don’t really do much decorating, just some old posters on the walls. The road outside is always busy with bikes and cars going towards the main town. Sometimes it gets so loud we have to ask customers to repeat their orders. We try to keep things simple and just focus on getting the drinks out fast. There’s always something to do, like cleaning the glasses or checking the stock in the back room. It’s a small business and we just handle it day by day without making much fuss. On Sundays, it's a bit quieter but we still stay open because you never know who might be passing through the area.
