Down on Pipal Khunt Street No 1, you’ll find our little agency. It’s a narrow street, so it’s usually pretty quiet compared to the main roads. We’ve been here for a while, and the building is one of those older ones with high ceilings and thick walls that stay cool in the summer. Most of the time, it’s just the sound of papers shuffling or someone talking on the phone. We handle a lot of different things, mostly acting as the middleman for various goods coming into the area. It means there’s a lot of paperwork to keep track of—delivery notes, invoices, and receipts that always seem to pile up on the desks. We don't have a lot of walk-in traffic, so it’s mostly us and the occasional delivery driver. Every morning starts with a cup of tea and a look at the to-do list for the day. Sometimes the internet goes out and we have to wait around for it to come back, which gives us a chance to tidy up the back room. The furniture is a bit mismatched, just stuff we’ve picked up over the years, but it’s comfortable enough. We don't really do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know we’re here on the street. By five or six, we usually start packing up, making sure the ledgers are put away and the windows are shut tight. It’s a steady, quiet kind of life here.
