Al Hutaib Hardware

Al Hutaib Hardware is easy to find because we are near Behrein Road and right opposite the New Bus Stand. Being across from the bus stand means there is never a quiet moment. You can hear the conductors calling out destinations and the engines idling all day. We get a lot of people just dropping in because they saw our shop while waiting for their bus. We sell all sorts of hardware items, from small screws and nails to tools and plumbing bits. The shop is pretty packed, and sometimes even I have to search for a minute to find a specific size of bolt. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. It is a bit cramped, but it works for us. We don't really do much in the way of fancy displays. Everything is just kept where it fits. My hands are usually a bit greasy from handling the metal parts, and we don't wear uniforms or anything like that. It is just basic work clothes that can handle some dirt. When the weather is nice, we sit on chairs outside the front door and watch the crowds at the bus stand. It is a good spot for a hardware store because people always need something fixed. We open up in the morning and stay until the last few buses start thinning out in the evening.
