Surya Alloys Industries Ltd.

Surya Alloys Industries Ltd. is based out in the village of Ghutgoria in the Bankura district. It’s a different world out here compared to the big cities. The plant is large and surrounded by a lot of open land. Most of the people who work here come from the nearby villages, so there is a real sense of community at the site. We deal with alloys, which means there is a lot of heat and heavy work involved every single day. The sky out here is big, but the air around the furnaces is thick. We have a small administrative block where we handle the logistics of moving materials in and out of such a rural location. It takes some planning to get the transport right because the roads aren't always perfect. We don’t have much in the way of city luxuries, but we have everything we need to keep the industrial process going. The day starts early with the shift change and doesn’t really stop until late at night. We focus on the output and making sure the furnaces are running as they should. It’s a lot of grit and sweat, but that’s the nature of the industry we are in. We are a major employer in this part of Bankura, and we just keep things running by showing up and doing the work every day without too much talk.
