Jagotik Foundation

Jagotik Foundation is out in Bankura district, in a small village called Srichandrapur. You’ll find us at the home of Satyanarayan Sukul. Bankura is known for its red soil and the intense heat in the summer months, and our village is no different. The office is a very simple setup, just a part of a house where we’ve set up some tables and chairs to get our work done. It’s peaceful here, away from the rush of the big towns like Bankura city itself. Most of the people around us are farmers or small traders. We don't have a big sign out front, just the knowledge that this is where the foundation operates from. Sometimes the internet is slow, and we have to wait a bit to get things finished, but we are used to that pace. It gives us more time to talk to the people who come by. We drink a lot of water and try to stay cool while we organize our daily tasks. The foundation isn't run by some big board of directors in a faraway city. It’s just a few of us from the G.ghati area who wanted to have a base here. We keep our records in simple folders and try to stay as organized as possible in our own way. It’s a very practical, down-to-earth kind of place, and we wouldn't have it any other way. West Bengal is full of places like this.
