Atanu Gorai & Co.

Atanu Gorai & Co. is based in the village of Pirlabani, right near the Shib Mandir. If you are coming through Beliatore or the Gangajalghati area, you’ll find us in this little corner of the district. The sound of the temple bells is a constant part of our workday, which is actually quite nice. We are a small local firm and we handle various tasks that come our way from the surrounding villages. The roads here aren't always the best, so getting supplies in can take a bit of extra time, but we’ve learned to be patient. We operate out of a modest building that serves as both an office and a bit of a storage space. There aren't any fancy chairs or air conditioning here; just some wooden benches and a couple of ceiling fans to keep the heat away. We know most of the people who walk past our door, and often they stop for a chat even if they don't have any business with us that day. It is a very communal way of working. We don't bother with professional jargon or complicated contracts; we just tell people what can be done and how long it will take. Most of our work is done during the daylight hours because the village gets very quiet after sunset. It’s a grounded way to run a company, focusing on the people and the place we live in every day. Sometimes we have to travel out to meet people who can't come to Pirlabani.
