A Digital House

Down in Sonamukhi, you will find A Digital House. We decided to set this up because everything was moving toward computers and digital files, and people in the village needed a place to get that kind of stuff done. We handle things like printing photos, scanning documents, and helping people with online forms that can be pretty confusing. The shop is small and usually smells a bit like warm paper from the printers running all day. We have a couple of desks set up with older computers that still do the job just fine. Sonamukhi is a nice place to be, and we get a lot of foot traffic from people heading to the post office or the market. We don't have a fancy website or a big sign, just a simple place where you can get your digital errands finished. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to sit and wait with the customers until it comes back on, which is just part of living here. We don't use any complicated jargon; if someone needs a picture resized or a document sent, we just do it. It’s a simple life, and we like being the ones who help the local community stay connected with the rest of the world. We’re usually there from early morning until late evening, just keeping the machines going and making sure every print comes out looking okay. It’s what we do and it keeps us occupied.
