About Murlu Clay Tiles Cluster Industrial – Building & Construction Material in Bankra
Our tile cluster is located in the village of Murlu, which falls under the Saltora area in the Bankura district. We are officially registered under number 3/M Sse. This is a very local operation where we work with clay and fire to make tiles. The ground around here is that red soil you see in this part of West Bengal. It is a very physical kind of work. Our days depend a lot on the weather. If it rains too much, we have to stop and cover everything up because the clay won't dry. In the summer, it is incredibly hot near the kilns, but that is just how tile making goes. The people working here are mostly from the nearby villages. We don't have any big machinery or fancy offices. It is just a cluster of sheds and open spaces where the tiles are laid out to dry in the sun. You can hear the sound of people talking and the clinking of finished tiles being stacked up. It is a bit of a dusty environment, and your hands are almost always dirty from the mud. We have been doing this for a long time, and it is a way of life for many families in Murlu. We don't spend much time on paperwork or computer stuff. Most of our time is spent out on the floor, making sure the tiles come out the way they should.
