Hindustan Marble

We are located over in Hingalganj, just a short walk from the Uco Bank. If you know the area, you know where the Villpostp.S. is. It’s been our spot for a good while now. We deal mostly in marble here at Hindustan Marble. It's heavy work and the yard gets quite dusty when the sun is out, especially in the 24 Parganas North heat. Most days involve moving slabs around and checking what came in on the last truck. We don't have a big fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s just a practical yard where we keep our stock. People from around the village come by when they are fixing up their houses or building something new. We try to keep a decent variety of stones so there is something for everyone's floor. Usually, there is a lot of noise from the cutting machines, so it’s not exactly a quiet place to sit and chat, but we manage. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but we’re still right here doing the same thing. Some days are busier than others, especially when a big project starts nearby. We just focus on getting the slabs loaded up and making sure the counts are right. It’s a simple business, really. We open up early, get the gates unbolted, and wait to see who stops by today. That’s pretty much how it goes for us.
