The business is run out of Bijaynagar, which is in the Banka district of Bihar. We operate from the home of Akhilanand Singh’s son. Banka is a bit of a distance from the bigger cities, so we mostly handle things locally within the district. We are builders, plain and simple. We take on various building projects, whether it’s small houses or other local structures that people need. It’s not a fancy operation with a lot of office staff. It’s mostly just us and the crews we hire for the jobs. Working in Banka means dealing with whatever resources we have available, and we’ve gotten pretty good at making things work over time. We don't have a polished marketing plan or anything like that. Most people find out about us because they saw a building we worked on or they know the family. We just try to stay honest and do the work that is asked of us. The days can be long, especially when we are trying to finish a project before the monsoon hits. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just build things. It’s a straightforward business, and we like keeping it that way.
