Keshri Masala Mill

Our mill is located in Kahalgaon, right near the Lela Mandi. If you’ve ever been to the mandi, you know how loud and crowded it gets with farmers and buyers. We are situated close to the Post Office as well, which makes it easy to find us if you are navigating the Tehsil. The smell of the spices is the first thing you notice when you walk toward Keshri Masala Mill. It gets into your clothes and follows you home. It’s a lot of hard work keeping the machines running and making sure the grinding is done right. The floor is usually covered in a fine layer of dust from whatever we are processing that day. We don’t have a big office or anything; most of our time is spent on the floor where the action is. It gets very hot inside when the machines have been running for a few hours. We usually have a jug of water and some glasses sitting on a wooden table for anyone who gets thirsty. The locals from Kahalgaon come by quite often, and we know most of them by name. It’s not a fancy operation with shiny equipment, but the machines we have are sturdy and get the job done. We spend a lot of time cleaning the filters and checking the bags. It is a simple life, focused on the daily grind and the rhythm of the mandi next door.
