Jayantinandan Foundation

Our small office is located at Jayanti Devi’s place in the Amarpur Nagarpanchayat area. If you know the Amarpur block in Banka, then you probably know where we are. It is a busy little spot in the Tola. Jayantinandan Foundation is really just a group of us who live nearby and wanted to do something useful. We don't have any big corporate backing or anything like that. We mostly just talk to the people walking by or the families we have known for years. Banka is a nice district but it has its challenges like anywhere else. We spend our days dealing with the basic needs of the local community. It is not always easy and sometimes we run out of time to get everything done. The office is usually a bit messy with papers and tea cups. That is just how we work. We don't use big words or have fancy meetings. If someone has a problem, they come to the door and we see what can be done. It is very informal here. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside and talk. Most people around here call Jayanti Devi if they need anything, so it made sense to start this here. It is just a local effort to keep things moving in the right direction for the Tola. We are glad to be part of the neighborhood and stay busy with the day-to-day stuff every single week.
