Fofid Foundation

The Fofid Foundation is based in Shiv Nagar, which is over in the Sabalpur Panjwara area of Banka. If you are from around here, you know it’s a hardworking part of Bihar. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. Our setup is pretty basic, just a room where we keep our stuff and meet up to talk about what needs doing. We focus on the local area because that’s where we live and that’s what we know. Banka has its challenges, and sometimes it feels like the smaller villages get forgotten by the bigger programs. So we decided to just do things ourselves. We might be helping out with some local building work one day or checking on the kids’ health the next. It’s not always organized perfectly, and we definitely make mistakes sometimes, but we are honest about it. We don't use big words or try to sound like we know everything. We are just folks from Shiv Nagar who want to see our community do a little better. You might see us walking around Sabalpur Panjwara talking to people or carrying supplies back and forth. It’s just everyday work for us. We don't have a big budget, so we rely on people helping each other out. That’s the way it’s always been here, and that’s how we keep the foundation going. It's just simple, local effort for the people who live right here.
