Shaik Stone

Shaik Stone is located at 209 Queens Road, and we’ve been operating from this little corner for quite some time. Queens Road can get pretty busy, but we’ve managed to carve out our own space for all the various stones we keep. We deal with all kinds of natural stone products, mostly for people around the neighborhood who are doing some renovations. It’s a small team here, just a few of us who have learned the trade over the years. We aren't some big chain store; we are just a local shop where we know most of the people who walk through the door. Stone is a tricky material to work with because it’s heavy and can be fragile if you aren’t careful, so we take our time with it. There’s no fancy showroom with bright lights here. You just walk into the yard and see what we have stacked up. Sometimes the weather makes things a bit slow, but we are usually here from morning until evening. We don’t spend money on big advertisements because word of mouth in this area works better than anything else. If we do a decent job for someone, they tell their cousin or their neighbor, and that’s how we keep the lights on. It’s a simple way to run a business, and it’s worked for us so far. We just like being part of the community and providing something useful.
