Varilux

If you find yourself in the Gandhinagar area, specifically near Anand Rao Circle, you probably know how crowded it gets. Our office, Varilux, is situated in Brigade Plaza on S.C. Road. We are up on the 6th floor, at No. 71/1. It’s a bit of a climb if the elevators are acting up, which happens every now and then. Being on the 6th floor gives us a bit of a view of the chaos below on S.C. Road, which is always filled with buses and people rushing toward the railway station. Inside, it’s a bit quieter than the street, but not by much. We handle a lot of eyeglass lenses here, so there’s always a lot of trays and glass pieces being moved around carefully. The office layout is a bit cramped because we have so much equipment and stock crammed into the rooms. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background to drown out some of the traffic noise from the circle. It’s a very central spot to be, which makes it easy for people to find us, though parking is a total nightmare around Brigade Plaza. Most of us just take the bus or get dropped off. We spend a lot of time hunched over desks checking orders and matching them up with the right boxes. It’s not a glamorous setup, just a busy workplace in the middle of the city.
