You’ll find us at Thunga House, which is number 96 on 31st Cross in Jayanagar 7th Block. It’s a nice part of Bangalore. We deal with silks here. The house has been in the family for a long time, and we use the ground floor for the business. It’s full of rolls of silk and different fabrics. The smell of the cloth is something I’ve grown up with. It's not a showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a place where we keep our stock and talk to regular buyers. Jayanagar is a bit quieter than the rest of the city, which is why we like it. We don't do much advertising. People mostly find us through word of mouth. My mother still helps with checking the quality of the silk. She has a better eye for it than anyone. We have a small porch where we sit and drink coffee in the evenings. The work can be slow sometimes, especially when we’re waiting for new shipments from the weavers. We don't have a big corporate structure. It's just a family business. We handle everything from the orders to the packing. The house is old, but it’s sturdy. We plan to stay here as long as we can. It’s a quiet life, mostly just moving fabric and making sure the accounts are right. We enjoy the routine of it.
