You’ll find us on the 16th floor of Geetha Mansion on Kempe Gowda Road. It’s a tall building and getting up here in the elevator can take a minute if it's busy. Being on the 16th floor gives us a bit of a view of the city, but we’re usually too busy with paperwork to look out the window. The office is full of files and computers, and the phones seem to ring more than they should. We deal with a lot of people in the clothing business who have questions or need help with something. It’s not like a factory where things are being made; it’s more about the organizational side of things. We spend a lot of time in meetings or typing out letters. There are stacks of magazines and trade papers on almost every table. It’s a bit formal sometimes, but we all know each other well enough that it doesn't feel stiff. We have a small area for coffee and tea where people stand around and talk about the latest industry news. The traffic on KG Road is always a nightmare, so we usually hear the honking from down below even all the way up here. We stay until the work is done, which is often later than we planned. It’s just a bunch of us trying to keep things moving for the garment industry in this big city. It's just normal office work.
