Peenya Industrial Estate is a massive place, and Superior Electric Machines is right in the heart of it at B-214 on the 5th Main. This is the 2nd Stage area, which is always humming with activity from early morning until late at night. Our workshop is full of heavy parts and the constant sound of electric motors being tested. There’s a specific smell here—a mix of copper wire and cooling oil—that you just get used to after working here for a week. We don’t have a lobby with soft chairs or a receptionist. Instead, we have workbenches and shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. The floor is concrete and has seen better days, but it holds up under the weight of the machines we handle. We spend our mornings checking the schedules and our afternoons actually getting the hands-on work done. It gets quite loud when all the machines are running at once, so we have to shout a bit to be heard over the noise. We take our tea breaks out by the front gate just to get some fresh air. The traffic in Peenya can be a nightmare, so we usually get here early and leave late to avoid the worst of the jams. It’s a solid, no-nonsense environment. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny office; we just want to make sure the machines we build are sturdy and reliable for the people who use them.
